Living on the streets of Orchard's Reach, Sen never dreamed about becoming a cultivator.

He barely even knew what cultivation was, let alone wanted to do it. When fate intervenes, though, he finds himself the disciple of a cultivator. Like all who find themselves on the path to defying the heavens, Sen will have to decide what kind of person he wants to be and what kind of mark he wants to leave on the world.

One of my favorite cultivation novels. For now it's up there with early Paragon of Sin for me. Also the no system, cheat, reincarnation .. etc in the novel is refreshing. Does anyone have any similar recommendations? For me only Ave Xia Rem Y comes to mind. [9.5/10]

"Beware the chicken" ، Although MC moved to a new world, he also does not have cheats and does not suffer from eighth grade syndrome and the main character. Rather, he decides to leave the sect where the original was suffering from contempt and bullying, and moves to the weakest place on the continent and starts a farm and lives in peace, there Also great fights and some mystery in the world building

Ave is a little dark, but well written. I got caught up with it too, but there's a lot of tragedy in it, which I don't like a lot. I prefer stuff a bit more lighthearted, to make me happy and feel good rather than sad.

Heavenly Jewel Master, Upgrade Specialist in Another World, Otherworldly Evil Monarch, Pocket Hunting Dimension, Let me Game in Peace, Sovereign of 3 Realms, Weapons Master are all completed.

Complete Martial Arts Attributes is fantastic, but ongoing with over 2k chapters now.

If you can stand a book like the anime Death Flags or whatever with a non-romance female protagonist, Tori Transmigrated was great.

I read a lot of LitRPG, but you didn't ask for that. This is off the top of my head, and with my whiskey and cokes, all I can think of at the moment. Enjoy :D

I've read up to book 2 ch 37 now and would like to give a review.

This is a non-isekai, regressor, or reincarnation cultivator novel. The MC doesn't have any cheat at all. A novel so well written and addictive.

The MC is a street trash and beggar in a little city. He seems to have a unique ability to
which attracted the attention of a traveling cultivator. For years he was taught by his new master and his master's friends
The MC is not some edgelord, nor some reincarnated master, or some stupidly written thief - type. He is just a kid who has never learned math, reading, or anything for that matter.

The story isn't just about his master, his ability, the spirit beast he met, or anything of the sort. It is an introduction to the cultivation of that world, world building, and the journey of a young teen to adulthood and the beginnings of learning.

The novel seems to be a coming of age/slice of life then adventure. The world is crafted plausibly, with the manner of interaction between mortals and cultivators, between sect cultivators and wandering cultivators, and between men and spirit beasts. It is amazing detailed and easy to fall into the story.

To summarize the plot thus far:
    .

The writing is so good I thought it was written by Er Gen, Tomatoes, Tang Jia San Shao, or another famous author. I quite recommend it.

Does the author really use “Jian”? If so, that’s a really weird choice.

Umm.. I suppose so. More realistic perhaps? It certainly doesn't have generic "sword", but rather the jian, dao (sabre), the spear, fighting fans and the like.

Jian and Dao just translate to Sword and Saber even if they’re a slightly different type of sword and saber

True enough, jian and dao mean sword and saber respectively. However, they are also historical weapons of a specific type, not merely a broadsword, arming sword or the like and called a jian.

The author is an English writer and used those words deliberately. There is even context in the writing referring to the jian out of favor for the dao in their mortal armies - like it was in our own world history.

The author was trying to make his writing as plausible as possible. Even during the training, breaking it down to 4 moves - variations of slash, stab, block, and parry. Weapon deterioration and damage from sparring and sending your qi into the weapon. The reason why 2 hands are needed for the spear, and how that is used.

If you're wondering if you should read it, you should.

It reminds me a bit of Painting the Mists, if you've ever read that series. Try royalroad or kindle.

A really enjoyable novel so far. The spacing is wonky so you most likely will have to adjust your settings but overall, I really liked it. Interesting plot and good MC

Great Story Overall, cultivation-wise, the novel can be compared to 'Tales of Herding Gods' in the aspect of being nurtured by old OP cultivators in the beginning before he goes on the adventure.

If you are a newbie to cultivation novels. This novel is not recommended for you because the writing format is condensed into huge blocks that will make the reading experience boring so you need patience for this format . The author needs an editor to arrange the texts other than that its a great novel.

    its presented as such :
    --------------------
    --------------------
    -------------------
    -------------------
    -------------------
    -------------------

    its recommended to follow:
    -------------------
    -------------------

    -------------------
    -------------------

    ------------------
    ------------------

Its like an essay without spacing.

I think this would be pretty good to read if there is a good format since this seems to be heavy in content from first impression

    Honest first impression.

I did not even read, but man as soon as I opened first chapter I was immediately put off, the spacing is so weird and text is just blocks of text compressed together. I could tell its not going to be fun reading experience. And I haven't even started reading.

Finished first chapter. And boy was I right, this is harder to read than staying up and studying for finals. Text is just too compact, sentences are too heavy and wordy.

What I can see is that this author lacks a good editor who could help author make this more readable.

    further edit:

What I did was added some spacing between the lines via site settings, it made it more readable and I am no at 28th chapter, story does find its way of hooking you into this and keeping you wanting for more. It picks up quite fast from 3rd or 4th chapter.

I guess by chapter 28th I am quite used to the compact form it has so it has become easier to read.

Definitely an interesting read, and there is some good humour thrown in.

It's pretty good so far. Very interesting. You might have to adjust the spacing settings on Ranobes tho just because of how congested the text is.
