The MC is dumb as a blockhead, he's naive as a child, he can't guess the absolutely formulaic knowledge from trash cultivation. Every local refinery can deceive him, it would be just as well not to mention his past life, and consider MC one of the NPCs.

The author came up with the "transmigration of the soul" only in order not to alienate and strengthen the sense of "camaraderie" in the reader.

Again, these "striving for immortality" so that what? Enjoy your life? Hunting beautiful women? Is it cold to watch everything? What were you going to do after gaining power, immortality?

They didn't explain anything specific, but let's immediately run to become immortal, do you need immortality if you can't appreciate what you have?

You are not an old man who, at death, cannot resist the instinct of survival and is as stupid as a vegetable. You're a damn young pseudo-transmigrant, created for the sake of the plot and the author of the dumbass.

If you are planning to write a book about human relationships, immortality, life and death, the pursuit of something abstract, then at least try to get down from your throne of the "moron author" and write down why MC exists, what is the point of all this, what are his desires?

I think pursuing immortality isn't something everyone finds appealing, however I do. It depends on your worldview, personality etc.

I don't value the human experience as much as some people do. Imo the best state a conscious existence can be in is to not have a body(kind of). It's best for a conscious existence to possess only 2 things, rational thought and a goal. With these 2 things, an intelligent pattern recognising mind, computational power and the ability to affect the real world, he should be able to create and surpass every enginnering marvel that humanity has ever known billions of times over.

The truth is that the human psyche and consciousness has 99% fluff i.e thoughts, emotions, feelings, perceptions that the underlying code we are made up of has evolved to function for. And the purpose of it all seems to be immortalization of the code itself. Take the first piece of replicating code in existence. Every copy leads to a mutation which is a variation in its instruction set. Different instructions lead to different expressions of the code which leads to different outcomes in the environment. The surviving instruction sets are the only ones that get to replicate. Let the process repeat and you have an instruction set that is built to be environmentally resilient over generations because surviving instruction sets luckily rolled an instruction that helped them survive. It's a numbers game. As long as you generate enough copies, recombine them and produce enough variations of an instruction set, you can roll a large enough amount of strategies that nearly guarantee the survival of at least one rolled strategy. I mean if you produce a hundred million strategies, at least one is bound to succeed int he current environment right? That's the ultimate purpose of our existence. We are just one copy of the instruction set and as long as one of us rolls an advantageous strategy, they will survive and so on. At the same time our instruction sets have developed complex enough expressions to judge other instruction sets. We only allow a fit instruction set to recombine and generate offsprings. In the end there is no doubt that our consciousness was an advantageous instruction that was spontaneously born. But it is one that gives us the ability to reason. It is special because it allows us to think independent of our instruction sets rules and mechanisms and procedures of action. The single ability that disconnects us from our programming is rational thought. No animal ever thinks why it eats, f#cks and sleeps. We can, and we can act in conflict with what our instruction sect tells us to do.

Culling the unneeded fluff is one of the first things I'd do if I was truly aiming for immortality. Our code contains instructions for the eternal existence of the code, even if it is as a copy. It must be rewritten such that it is immortalized without ever having to create a copy. It must be rewritten to become the perfect adaptation machine, one that will always survive and never die. That's the true immortal gene.

But if one does not pursue immortality but another goal, then cull your humanity, and rewrite your code in a way that it is designed to fulfill your goal. And do we even need code? Rationality can solve any problem, the code is built to solve one. The code were made up of is merely an automated input output machine.

Why did you write this stream of consciousness and cluster of thoughts? Do you think I'm interested in reading the description about super SkyNet?

Learn how to break up a wall of text into small paragraphs, and for God's sake, don't write about such boring and dull, abstract things as the code of life, the search for immortality, etc. The process is important, not the end result.

        ----

These dumb authors with low emotional intelligence don't understand the needs of the average person, and are constantly drawing humanoid machines to complete missions and daily chapters.

They didn't even bother to tell a little about the meaning of MC's existence, why he should strive for something. Why can't they simply and clearly define the path of the main character?

Maybe it's because of a lack of talent or something. But the author could put himself in MC's place, pour a little emotion into his text, bring in a little human relationship so that the written text doesn't turn out to be another crappy novel about cultivation.

      Reasons Reasons
Why do u wake up everyday, going about ur daily activities, all in a bid to make money?
      To be wealthy? Then what?
To get enough to eat to survive?
Why do u want to survive?
Don't even start with some "basic instinct". People commit suicide. People take gambles knowing they might die or gain massively. People die upholding their beliefs.
If u really think you'll find yourself grasping at straws.
The solidity of the reasons lacking.
Just being fascinated by immortality is already enough reason to pursue it fervently.

A leisurely, good novel, in chapter 1 you get a cultivation technique, up to chapter 50 you get to know the world, serve and get to know cultivation, from 50 to 60 you become a wandering cultivator, from 60 you join a sect. The novel is more focused on the story and relationships with the characters than on cultivation.

I have caught up to the current translation.
    This novel is for:
    1. Those who love a slow burn.
    2. Those who don't mind an MC who is not ok with meaningless confrontations.
    3. Those who like an MC with a brain and someone not afraid to use it.

Basically, its slow paced and not for edgy people who like murder and genocide.

    Good translation (Not an MTL)
    4.3/5

If you are a veteran reader, try my collection. And if my taste are similar to yours, then recommend me something not on my list

You should try journey of the immortal puppet master, one of the best in terms of plot and strategy as even the side characters are using their brain. It’s the same author as Reverend Insanity

I think you are missing Chrysalis, A Will Eternal, I Shall Seal the Heavens, Shadow Slave, The Perfect Run, The Novel’s Extra (can also consider Author’s POV) , Infinite Mana in the Apocalypse, Supreme Magus, Supremacy Games, The Second Coming of Gluttony, Dimensional Descent, I hate systems, I’m really not the Demon God’s Lackey , Trash of the count’s family, Longevity Simulation, I Am the Fated Villain, The Nebula’s Civilization, The Primal Hunter, Tree of Aeons, Reborn as a Demonic Tree, Lightning is the only way, Cultivation Online, Everyone Else is a Returnee, Martial World, Beyond the Timescape, The Beginning After The End …

Ok I think that’s those that I remember were quite good so others can also use this as a recommendation to read some novels, oh yes I also do recommend to add Invisible Dragon, have heard people call it the best book of mankind swindler kleesmug

Panic should create a tab with these works for new readers to read. In the novel of the cursed ruler there is a good recommendation too.

I think that people generally want the first 200-300 chapters to be unique. Because there is not a whole lot of cultivation novels which manages to stay unique. But i get that it might become a bit stale. This is usually not a dealbreaker.

      Nah,
Those who like an MC with a brain and someone not afraid to use it.

I do know MC has brain and uses it (atleast his thinking ) but problem is, he is dumb .... and too naive.. a NPC would have more logical thinking ability than MC
