I don’t know about that. The MC is pretty weak and reckless.

I’ve read around 80 chapters, and even though I didn’t really like the story, it was at least executed pretty well. The story follows an inquisitor from a church who ends up afflicted with a troublesome poison. To deal with it, he gets involved with a witch to make money and hopefully find a cure for himself.

Despite being completely new to this kind of thing, the MC is extremely reckless, casually selling the witch’s goods without even properly checking how the local area operates first. His whole attitude is basically, “we’ll deal with problems when they show up.” And, unsurprisingly, he eventually ends up stuck in a deep quagmire. Honestly, if not for plot armor, he probably would’ve been exposed and arrested from the very beginning. Still, you could argue this was the author trying to develop the MC’s character.

The worldbuilding is pretty standard. There’s an empire, there’s a church, and they hate the guts of witches & declare em bitches, cuz some ancient hag said “womp womp” to the four gods and they responded in kind. Then there are supernatural beings with transcendental powers, but so far nothing too crazy. Mostly stuff like being impervious to bullets and the church using “holy water” for healing. There are also labyrinths/dungeons with magical monsters. So far, nothing particularly mind-blowing.

And the small bit of romance in this was actually handled pretty well. Usually, I don't really expect this in harem novels. Of course, as of ch 80, there's only one women that can be considered fml.

Translation is fine too.

This ended up being way better than I expected, and it really captures that breaking bad vibe everytime things escalate unintentionally. The author is great at characterization which really drives the story, the plot and world building are also quite well done, although not exactly the stars of the show.
Overall definitely worth a read, but only one arc is translated at this point. It's only edited AI translation, but holds up for the most part.
