I am only a few chapters into this novel but i almost hate it. It started out with a demon experimenting on the mc. He showed cruelty and disregard towards MC's pain and death. Such a start should atleast harden our mc. But he speaks nonsense, jokes around, forgives everyone, and is basically a simp.

The demon princess on multiple occasions command the mc to do things which could kill him. What does our mc do? He is happy to help them. Even uses his past knowledge to help them even when they don't ask him. There is no indication of any revenge despite him having a system which could make him very strong in the future. Mc once he gets some power acts like a chuunibyou, puts on a mask and plays a hero for demons. Even gives away a good portion of his wealth to the rando victim for some stupid reason. Its somewhat painful to read.

I would highly recommend to not read this novel and waste your time.

I guess u don’t have patience to read a good story. U r in desperate need of a good plot and story that u don’t want any character development. U want an mc who is super smart and super strong from the start. This type of mc just destroy the novel at later part. But ‘a simp not so intelligent and powerful mc who develop into a powerful mc’ this type of mc have a bad start but in later part became good

The best in this novel is not the fighting or cultivation or action or anything of that , the best is the harem ! Every love interest have been described with her story , personality and abilities, and yes they aren't useless that's the best thing . I really don't like harem tag specially with mc who collecting them like some kind of Pokémon, but this is special ! Try It and you won't regret.

Dropped, MC is a simp and also kind of stupid? I mean, I'm not asking for ruthlessness or anything here - god knows that shit gets exhausting after the first one hundred times - but at least show me some intelligence. Some craftiness. Something to set this guy apart, show me that he's actually worth something. But no, he's just a bit of an idiot. Kind of annoying.

I'll also admit that the descriptions for the girls made me want to bash my head in, but this is probably more because I've just read so many of these things now, I'm practically thirsting for the barest amount of originality. crybaby I don't need more exquisite lolis or girls with 'wild charm', just spare me. 4

The TL quality is pretty good, I'll give it that. It's probably fun if you aren't too bothered by the MC's personality, but as someone who likes tricksy protagonists who can scheme a little, he totally didn't suit my tastes. That, and I just knew this guy was gonna lick the demons' boots the whole novel and I did not wanna be here for it.

I have read till 600 plus chap and I can say that I don't know what does tricksy protagonist mean to you but this is far better than other xanxia MCs. I mean it is a kingdom building type novel so it is full of planning and politics shit but after 600 plus chap it is getting predictible and boring....

eh, at this point, I forgot I'd even read this. off my review, this seems like yet another one of those books that are probably really good if you aren't tired of the classic Chinese writing style and tropes. In the case of someone who's read and dropped a hundred of these or more, it's likely tiring.

Sad to hear it, brother. At least it provided you with the chapters of entertainment it did. bow There are still many, many books out there. I'm sure you'll find something to read again soon enough! c:

Sure, fren. Do you like tricky protags that are still technically 'good', or do you want tricky protags that are just evil guys through-and-through? I prefer the former myself, but I get the appeal of the second.

Apologies brother, I had to go burn down a sect. Their disciples injured a blade of grass I'd spent a handful of seconds cultivating, so this one had to show them their place.

            Hmm, scheming protagonists?
Reverend Insanity and Renegade Immortal are both top-tier recs. I haven't read either yet, but I have heard pretty good things, and they are reputed to contain if not scheme-y, full brutal protags.

I Cultivate Passively has a hilarious mildly scheming protagonist, though the TL drops off about halfway through and it's more comedic than anything.

Ave Xia Y Rem has some of the best schemes in xianxia I've ever seen, and is generally just a very well-done cultivation novel.

My Disciples are All Villains and, in a similar vein, History's Greatest Founder, are both littered with schemes. I found myself getting bored of both eventually, but they're pretty solid overall.

ISSTH is a classic, though not sure how scheme-y it really is.

Those are the only ones I can think after going through my list; here is a quick search using Ranobes for the 'Schemes and Conspiracies' event tag.

            https://ranobes.net/novels/f/n.events=Schemes+And+Conspiracies/sort=date/order=desc/

I once did the same for a manga, stacked up 1 WHOLE year so I could read on new year. . . I found out then that it was on HIATUS :| was on hiatus for 1 more year after that.

It wasn't fun to wait on it for 1 year . . . on New Year. . . . only to find out it's been on hiatus the exact same moment I decided to wait for it.
