    It's okay, but I kinda got sick of it 200 chapters in because I keep getting AWE-vibes. Like, I get it, it probably was inspired by it- i.e., the 'sect war' and the 'great wall' thing, but I just felt like I was reading an AU version of AWE and couldn't stick around. It doesn't help most of the characters are unmemorable and the plot is bland. Chen Chen faces no real difficulties whatsoever, but the story isn't written comedically good enough to make me care. There's no plot, the guy doesn't have much goals or conflict to speak of, there's no fun comedy or hijinks to replace it, what's the point? The bromance is good and all, and I love it, but it can't support the whole story.

    Ironically, I feel like this is one of those stories where it might have actually benefitted from having a harem. As it is now, it's just slightly frustrating. 3.4/5 stars.

          I'm surprised I read this book- I barely remember reading it, which probably speaks for itself about how good this is. Honestly, this book is probably leagues better if you haven't read AWE, since you won't start drawing any comparisons.
