With a father as strong as the highest heavens themselves, Gravis wasn't required to step into the cold and ruthless world of cultivation. But when Heaven used him in a scheme to get back at his father, Gravis realized that he needed strength to gain true freedom.

As long as he remained his weak self, he would always remain beneath Heaven’s oppression. Only true power brings true freedom. To gain strength, Gravis ventured into the lower worlds to start his cultivation under true life and death tempering.

Only a strong will, which had been forged in striving for every resource available, would allow him to reach the peak. Heaven’s strongest weapon was Lightning of Divine Punishment, and only if he made this weapon his, would he have a chance.

So, to overthrow Heaven,

Lightning Is the Only Way!

Yet, the path to power is painful.

Not everyone reaches the peak.

But Gravis will!

No matter how much pain he feels along the way! Collapse

Any novel where people are praising it without actually talking about why is garbage. What is it that other novels don’t have that this one does that makes it better than them? Without even reading I’ll cross out originality since the theme has been done a billion times already. What else? I’ll wait.

Well it isnt perfect and not truly orginal but i never read another story with the same main theme (that isnt just ulta level trash but done well) The only thing you could critize is maybe pacing, the ending, some plot devs and some char interactions and devs, but exept that there isnt much that isnt done well. (Only because a novel doesnt have many mistakes doesnt make it great but the Opposit is also true only because a novel has mistakes doesnt mean it cant be good)(And what makes it better than other novel? Its just a solid novel among the cultivation novels that makes it better than most since, well most cultivation novels (and many other types aswell but cultivation espcially) are written to be face slapping fastfood or are just trash, so just being bit better than the aversge normal novel/being a solid read makes it way better than most other in its genre(and if you like cultivation this just makes it quite a lot better)

Even tho some areas are somewhat rough and that i can definitly say it isnt something for everyone because of somethings that are in the whole story (as well as the to open ending well not realy but its somewhat empty) it definitly is a good novel 8/10 maybe even 8,5/10 as an cultivation novel i would even say 9-9,5/10 (btw higher than 9,5 is something i wont ever go because it would require pretty much perfection the closest to it would be something like 9,9 never a full 10/10 only to say that you can interpret it as an Amazing cultivation novel)

I'm pretty sure any Er Gen or IET novel has that, you have to let them get through the early cultivation stages though. Plus they aren't filled with cliché face slapping and Young Masters like a lot of the newer cultivation novels.

I Eat Tomatoes x Coiling Dragon Ring is a good starting point. IET has solid books but Er Gen has some of the best novels out there.

So in order of how I would read them:
Coiling Dragon Ring, Stellar Transformations, I Shall Seal the Heavens, Desolate Era, A Will Eternal from there just read however you like, but CD and St are much older meaning they’ll feel a little stale or cliche heavy because they were at the forefront of the webnovel scene.

You can do what the other comment said, but if you plan on reading Er Gen then I would recommend following the order that it says on here when you go to his authors page. You can read in any order really, but if you want to understand things better on your first read then I would just follow the order.(His earlier works are darker and filled with more tragedy though) For IET, CD is the prequel for ST and plays a role in the end, but it's not to the point where you need to read in a specific order, Desolate Era is my fav and isn't connected to the other 2.

Agreed, it is very good. Though A Will Eternal is very funny all through the novel. ISSTH, King of Gods, Martial World, Martial Universe, and Sovereign of 3 Realms are all the epic-type like Desolate Era.

Personally, when I picture a cultivation world(s) it would be Martial World. Very few novels have that world building, unquestionably the best I've read.

Usually, I feel happy when we have a lot of comments on a chapter but the people who read this novel apparently only know how to cry and whine like some spoiled brats... sigh

Everything aside I just cant accept the main theme of the novel, I find it illogical and stupid so everything after it makes it impossible to read for me. If you can accept it, this is pretty good novel...

    Main theme:

If you can accept this plot point, I think you'll like this novel. Everything else like constantly blaming heaven, naive MC etc.. gets resolved with time, with a good plot progression.

i would rate this novel 8/10. would definitely recommend

it definitely has it's flaws, if u can get past some of the a bit more ''annoying'' parts at the start, it starts becoming a more unique cultivation novel then most out there, there's no jade beauty no young masters no coughing up blood or of that generic stuff.

one of the annoying parts is the tempering thing where he literally
which is dumb, someone talked more about this a bit below called gfcz

it gets especially interesting at ch 1,000 when a lot of the mystery's we had become unveiled, stuff about the highest heaven the opposer,

this novel doesn't drag out ''unimportant'' fights, the fights being a beast that the mc kills for money or something else or just a random side character that hasn't and wont play any important role in the story, other novels would drag the fight out for 2-3 chapters

same with stuff like tournaments we know the mc is going to steam role them so there's no point in watching the fight, this novel also likes to have plot twist, most of the time if u think u know where the story's going ur probably wrong and that's my favorite part

i also like how it's more realistic with stuff like, how it takes him longer then a year to go up a major realm cuz in most novels it takes the mc 1 year to go to the next major realm but this is cultivation right? it's supposed to take a long time at least more then a year.

    another thing is

another thing that i like is that they frequently talk about how if u only focus on becoming the most powerful will u be happy? and what about when u get there?

there are more stuff i like and makes this novel more unique then most cultivation novels but i don't want to make this longer then it already is so i recommend u read it satisfied

well i think i am gonna read it but this is somewhat hard to belief considering the genre we are in i think ive already seen most types of plot twists etc that there are but hey maybe the author knows how to write that stuff which is rarely seen or only partly (for me you have to be extremly good at that i by now have already seen way way to much not on the level of the people who read WN since who knows when but with 3,500h+ into it i think i know a bit)
