The Dao Court has ruled the world of cultivators for over twenty thousand years. The noble families maintain a strict hierarchy, making life difficult for independent cultivators.

Good novel. I’ve read up to chapter 809 in the mtl. The characters are engaging, the power system is well thought out, and the pacing of character development and world building keep up with each other.

You know as much about the world as the MC does as he grows. And you don’t have a massive cheat that makes him OP from the start. He has a few deux ex mechana to give him an edge, but he still needs to work hard to make them meaningful.

And the MC isn’t monotonous. He started out innocent, but has progressed to being very conniving and ruthless to those he believes deserve it.

I have read up to 401 chapters on scribble hub. This is a very good novel. Slow pacing but if you've read xianxia novels then you should know how those turn( fast pacing ) out but this is genuinely one of the better cultivation novels in this whole site. Unlike the typical xianxia mentality of weeding out everything this mc ( Mo Hua ) is more Humane. Obviously he is ruthless when needed. The side characters are some of the best from all the novels I have read. They actually have souls and are not husk less puppets that follow the mc. This is a fresh breather in the ruthless world of Xianxia where everyone is actually supporting the mc and the supporters actually work unlike the typical xianxia supporters. Also true to it's name the mc focuses mainly and primarily in Formations. He uses formations in everything be it fighting, hiding, looting etc. UNLIKE some other *cough* Talisman emperor who say but don't.

All in All My personal preference it's 4.5/5
    In professional preference it's 4/5

The writing quality is good but it feels like babysitting. It's hard to remain invested in a story about at tween.

This is a good story if you close your brain. A lot plot holes, like the speed that the mc cultivate with a lower-middle-grade spiritual root and in arrays. I am cap 57 and it does not have 1 time skip. How the mc has 10 years and avance in level of arrays in days, not months or years. Same to cultivation, where almost all peoples are trapped in first realm of cultivation all your life, the MC advance fast with a lower spiritual root without nothing to explain.

It makes sense if you think about it... MC's speed in learning arrays is because of his cheat. Which lets him practice like 100x more than anyone else. He's got that grind set and motivation of topfo this alongside his above average talent which means it's quite understandable.

As for cultivation, it's mentioned later on, speed for cultivators with lower tiers can be made up with spirit stones. And MC starts rolling in them soon enough... As for Chapter 350, he's still in Qi Condensation level 7, so it's still a slow pace story.

The main reason he can advance at such a pace is because his cultivation technique does not have mini bottlenecks except those every three levels( atleast in qi establishment), which along with his resources, allows him to advance quite fast despite his poor talent. Moreover, other people have to gather resources to break through their 3 mini realm bottlenecks, and for most, the breakthrough to 7th and foundation establishment is so hard because they don’t have the resources to break through to the next level.

For arrays, his cultivation technique allows him to make arrays faster, and his extreme amount of spiritual sense for his realm, combined eith the extra practice he gets eith the dream realm means he can advance at a fast pace.

Really good story. So far the world building has just been the one city and its rural mountain, but the author fleshed it out well.

You can see the MC struggle with a lot, and it is more along the lines of a everyday struggle and less of a "you offended so and so, now you have to run until the story ends".

A lot of wuxia novels have insurmountable realms so the MC has no choice but to endure and I think the author found a good way to use that here. ~up to chapter 360.

A good and slow novel to enjoy. The mc has a cheat but it usually plays a passive role and the mc gets most of his powers through sheer hard work which is enjoyable and fresh. The side characters although not perfect have personalities, they are not arrogant for the sake of it as usual characters in a Xianxia are, making the story overally enjoyable.
A pleasant read to pass the time but not for everyone 7/10

I think its worth reading if you like the Xianxia genre, but it definitely has its faults. I won't name them all because it might put you off the book but the plus side of this novel is definitely his formation journey.
    Maybe a 3.5/5

I read 400 + chapters and agree. It is basically a slow xianxia grind with very fleshed out side characters and good variation in plot. The filler is there, but not insane. I would give it 2/5 (also because it doesnt hit my personal preferences in some aspects) but compared to other recent xianxia its more like 4/5. Just try reading it! The flow is steady so if u like the start u will like later chapters too.
