The Third Dimension is collapsing. The Fourth Dimension is descending.

First it seemed that only technology would evolve, but who knew the world itself could too? It wasn’t as simple as climate change or tectonic movement. No, the fundamental laws of physics that governed everything were changing.

Leonel was fairly lucky. His family was decently well off, his father loved him enough to brew vomit inducing nutrient rich smoothies every morning, and this was both the day of the National Championship and his 521st confession to his dream girl, Aina. As his father always said, nothing was more important than respect and persistence.

Unfortunately, everything changed that night. At the after party of ages, the world reached a saturation point and an apocalypse descended.

Abilities awakened. Sub-Dimensional Zones opened. Invalids rampaged through the Earth like a virus…

Those who could evolve would have a slim chance for survival. Those who couldn’t would die.

This novel will be a unique spin on the dungeon/system genre. Dungeons won’t be dungeons and the system won’t be a system… Take a look to find out what I maen :) Collapse

Awespec does some really impressive things in this novel, especially if you consider the way novels like this are serialized. The level of details put into the worldbuilding and power system are exceptional and overwhelming. The character development is somehow one of the best and worst things about this novel. The characters themselves are pretty well-rounded and robust, usually. And the combat sequences are astounding. And the MC is legitimately brilliant. There's a lot of scheming in this novel, and it's impressive how smart the characters actually are.

    But....

Awespec relies on some tropes that are so frustrating this novel sometimes becomes an absolute chore to read. There are two tropes in particular that made me want to drop the novel many times. Until I was bashed so thoroughly upside the head by them that, to maintain my sanity, I had no choice but to drop the novel.

    Those two tropes:
    1) People in power suck. This cannot be overstated. These are some of the worst villains I've read about. Most make the likes of Stalin and Hitler seem like fairly chill guys. In this novel, genocide of entire species of
creatures is treated with casual indifference.
    2) No matter how powerful the MC becomes, and perhaps precisely because of how powerful the MC becomes, he is ALWAYS the underdog.

I really wish Awespec could have matured the novel as it progressed. These themes are so overdone the novel becomes cyclical. The same types of events, just with higher stakes and different settings, repeat literally from beginning to end.

Oh, Awespec... Based on one of his previous novels I read, I can guess.
    1. Mc is most likely arrogant.
    2. Author would speed run his cultivation/power level for a few chapters, then give him a heavy nerf for several 10s or 100s of chapters.
    3. The cliché face-slapping villain lines
    4. Harem???
Gonna read to see how right or wrong I am. I hope he brought the good parts of his writing style and left the cliché and nerf stuff in the other novel.

Dropped around 200 chapters. Review short version: low effort, quantity over quality, run of the mill power fantasy. Could have been worth reading as cheap, low investment fun like eating at McDonalds, if it wasnt 3000 fkin chapters long.

Maybe it gets better later in the novel but Im not gonna read hundreds of chapters just to find it out
This will be a long review that goes into details

Long version: Is very mid as far as power fantasies go, has every cliche u seen before in low quality power fantasies. Op main character who cant go 10 steps before obtaining a new powerup, all female characters are supermodels who became teenage girls next to mc, useless alies and friends who never accomplishes anything and only function being a medium for the author to tell the reader how cool and awasome the mc is, comic book villians who are just evil for no reason...

Some other problems come to surface as well. The biggest one is, author TELLING you instead of SHOWING you how awasome mc is. Everytime mc accomplishes something, author adds in "If others were to see this, they would be in awe" or " this level of strength was simply unprecedented!!!" Type of stuff. It feels like watching a comedian that laughs at his own jokes. It also feels like author telling the reader HOW they should react which is very annoying. Just let me read and react things my way dude. You dont have to shove mc's big juicy powers down my throat every other chapter

Speaking of mc's accomplishments to the point that I read, 80% of his accomplishments are all thanks to his nepotism, the awasome and op tresures that are left to him. He is supposed to be very smart but he doesnt get to use his brain, instead he just ask one of these tresures what to do and it just provides the answer like fkin chatgpt. And dont get me started on the allmighty all purpose cube that should have been the main character in the first place. That thing lets mc bypass all restrictions and interesting mechanics author set up, gets him out of every stick situation mc has dug himself into and takes effort and hard work out of everything. Granted, author is very aware of this and mentions how overprivilaged mc is but that doesnt make it less boring.

Also, author emphasizes how many mistakes mc has done all the time and how he is a better person now, but he never changes, he makes the same mistakes again and again and author does his "self growth" chapter again. But character growth is basically non existent

The worldbuilding of the novel is very grand and ambitious... but hollow, its a jumble of unintuitive power systems that are incomplete and organizations, empires and clans without proper structure. Characters act and do things without reason to force the plot to go the direction author wants it to go which is very low effort.

All in all its another, 4.5/10 power fantasies. Just very long

I would love to go on but this thing is long enough alread so this is my review/rant. Cheers.

    Half the novel is basically:
    MC - *exists*
    - "How... dare this brat/ant/mortal/no-backing/no-background/no-dimensions dare breath the same air as me! Even demigods of the lower realm have their entire bloodlines tortured and raped to death for lesser offence! He's courting death!"

Another half is MC plot armor his way throw absolutely everything. The problem is that the "magic" is so soft and flexible and power levels are so vague, the more you read the less you believe that protagonist will EVER lose, unless author just want him to (he doesn't). Maybe he'll use one of his million powers/tools in this specific way which will... kinda makes sense? But will also feel like a borderline asspull. Or maybe he'll be figuring out the true meaning of some Fart Force for 3 chapters straight and then BOOM (he's now stronger or smth).
And sometimes (like when someone looks at his female the wrong way) MC will get angry! And when he's angry - heavens roar! And his plot armor transform into full-powered plot mech-suit! And everyone who dared to look down upon the King will regret!

Anyway, this novel has some decent character development, great themes about responsibility, loss and value of life. The worldbuilding and plot are also good if you ignore the constant "people in authority pick fight with MC for some petty reasons". Even fight and metaphysics are pretty cool even if author uses chapters-long metaphysics dumps as a way to make protagonist stronger. But it's bloated with shitty tropes and JUST bloated like most webnovel novels.

The author will hype up the talent of the main character to unlimited levels only for him to get nerfed by random shit shortly after while every other character gets buffed to be stronger than him. Repeat that 3000 times and you get this novel.

Sadly it is still a better read than 99% of similar novels, the start is very confusing and is easier to understand when rereading it.

This is ending soon apparently, there's a promo for awespec on webnovel. I hated the first 50 chapters, i usually feel the same for all awespec'w works. Then the world building hooked me for a thousand or so chapters, but I dropped soon after
Awespec has some amazing ideas for the world building, but I feel like he gets off the tangent a lot. Not even mentioning all the info dump chapters, sometimes we think we got some imp info that will be a major plot point, and then a few chapters later, the whole situation changes. It's ok if that happens once or twice, but this whole novel is that imo. I've completely lost track of the logic. He makes up paras after paras making explanations for stuff he said was impossible and we have no choice but just beleive it. Coz it's too hard to verify it.

I thought I might give it try now that it's ending, but idk, I just can't bring myself to do it.
