Don't read it, it's really good but there is no update since 2 month, it's useless to read a good story only to be frustrated afterwards

It's better to wait and see if it's only a hiatus or if it's a dropped novel.

#panic# the MTL Download seems to be... Uh, outdated? It only downloads up to chapter 146 (titled 145 Invitation) with the rest up until 305 not included.

Dropped after Book 1. It's readable, but I found it simply dull.
First of all, magic has no mystery, it's boring in both essence and action. As in many modern novels, magic functions as science. Here, spells are runewords - runewords are programs. Who is a top tier mage? Not even a good programmer, but someone who has a memory card with good rune spells stored and a lot of mana.
Battle is a classical "throwing elemental spells at monsters" with some minor tactics involved. Could be flashy in an anime I guess. There are also entire chapters describing her new spells, or stating she optimised existing ones. That's not necessarily a bad thing, on paper at least, idk if it's worth it for this novel, there aren't enough clarity in battle anyway, and battles aren't that good, it's not LoM, after all.
Character development is the only thing I can't say anything bad about, though, it's not the focus and there aren't that many characters so far.

The story so far seems not character- or action-focused but "mystery-focused" to me. You're (probably) supposed to care about how the apocalypse happened and other questions like that. There is intrigue in some cases, but I didn't find world-building interesting, and it's interconnected with boring magic system, which partially ruins it. Maybe it gets better, or the focus will shift, but I don't have the desire to continue reading.

Genuinely one of the better novels I've read in a while. Which admittedly doesn't say much but on an enjoyability factor, I'd rate this like a 8-9/10 till ch 270 which is the latest ch as I'm writing this.

I see many people having qualms with the gender bender tag but you don't have to worry about it, it is only mentioned in like the first 5 chapters and then never again. It has quite literally 0 plot relevance, just assume that the mc is a woman from the start if it really bothers you that much.

I do like the world building and exploration. The side plots aren't boring, the newly added characters mostly get decent screentime and get explored an ok amount with like the exception of 2 towards the later chapters but it seems like they will have some relevance again in the future so I won't comment on it much.

The power system is simple, but in a good way. How magic works etc isn't explained much but it doesn't take away from the story, on the contrary adds to it.

There is a decent bit of mystery in the novel as well. Something that I've been trying to find ever since I read LOTM years ago and this is the first novel that has managed to scratch that itch.

Overall, I'd say that I have been enjoying this novel quite a bit, it's just a bummer that it seems to be a bit unknown and has no comments in the chapters.

Genuinely why do people feel so much disgust and hatred towards the gender bender tag. It doesn't even have much of an effect on the story, why do they hate it so much..

I won't read this, I can't read this, on principle. It looks very promising, but immediately ruins it with the genderbent tag, why. Probably the fastest betrayal of expectations I've experienced.

Genuinely it has like 0 effect on the story. It's only mentioned in the first few chapters and then never again. Just assume that the mc is a woman from the start and it'll all be the same.

It may not be a big deal for you, but it is a big deal for me.

0 effect on the story? Just assume it's different? Haha. Please. The premise is the face of the novel. It sets expectations. I don't trust the author to make a story I'll like because of this, and if I read it, I will be very biased against it too. Can I enjoy the story when I'm already so dissatisfied with it from the start? I don't believe this novel is impressive enough to overturn this, so I will only grumble here.

Just read until like ch 20 and if you don't like it you don't like it.

But if it weren't for people like you complaining about it, I would've forgotten that it was "gender bender" purely because it is irrelevant. It seems like the author only put it there to attract people that don't want to read books with female mcs.

Ultimately who cares if you read this in a pirate site, it's not like our "support" even reaches the author anyways so do what you want but do know that you make yourself look stupid by making such a big deal out of something that has no plot relevance.

Dissatisfied from seeing the words "Gender" and "Bender" together in the tag list? Negative expectations set that you don't even wanna try reading because of them? And not even explaining why you hate the Gender Bender tag? Man, these posts really remind me to be thankful this rating system exists, so the OP can realize just how many people disagree with them.
