This story has both a competent/rational mc, and competent antagonists. Like wow, how refereshing it is that some of the antagonists actually have brains. It's not Death Note level big brain thinking, but it's also not mindless "I KILL YOU" mentality. Ofc you'll see some of that, this is xianxia, but on the whole, the antagonists have also made pretty rational decisions based on the information they're given to work with.

The first two volumes are very good. Logically holistic and interesting in confrontation. But the author could not interestingly move from one story to the next. As a result, the third volume is much weaker and full of frustration. Be prepared for this.

Good book, smart and capable MC that doesn't have any cheats. Well written and has a good emotional impact. Very promising right now. However the chapters are long and a bit exposition-y. The explanations about cultivation techniques are done well though, so it isn't a big deal for me. 9/10 for me
