Saul traverses into a wizarding world filled with eerie mysteries and deadly crises.

Determined to survive, he resolves to overcome all obstacles and become a wizard. However, in this terrifying world, both apprentices and official wizards must constantly face the threat of death. Worse yet, Saul finds himself a prime target for persecution.

Fortunately, he acquires a diary that can predict the future.

But every prediction reads:

[You bled out and died.]

[You turned into fertilizer and found great satisfaction in your new form.]

[You laughed yourself to death.]

[Three years later, you became someone else’s potion ingredient.]

Saul: (╯‵□′)╯︵┻━┻ I don’t want this cheat anymore!

Wait… Saul’s eyes suddenly lit up—Did I just rule out another wrong choice?

Before long…

Anyone knows a novel with a guy who can uses the power of many characters like a rose knight, a daoist using yin yang (light and darkness), an aristocrat with the power of the sun and the moon, and others maybe.. help me fellow daoists

I really like it so far. Horror elements early on. Feels like a gruesome Harry Potter with power scaling.

No, it's really unbearable to read. I'm on chapter 900 now, there are just over 100 chapters left until the end, and I don't want to put the book down, but I'm starting to freak out, it's just f#cking nuts!

I guess I'll have to leave my opinion ahead of time, and then I'll just finish writing my impressions of the ending. I just can't stand it anymore.

The book starts off well, even great! It's a mix of magic + some larcraft (in some moments there's inspiration from the Lord of Secrets or some other book with similar characteristics, like knowledge is dangerous and can kill, different secrets are things, accidentally saw something somewhere and you're dead)

The whole Tower arc was super interesting! Despite the fact that MC was in danger everywhere, had to be very careful, and was at the mercy of others, it was good, it was normal. He's just a weak person, just starting his journey in the world of magic, so there's nothing strange about it.
It was interesting to read how he modifies his body, seeks knowledge, gains experience in different areas, solves the secrets of the diary, encounters various unknown scary things.
How he gradually becomes stronger, and more and more people begin to respect him in the tower, he is already becoming someone!
And so when the tower arc ends, I sit and think that now he is already a formal level 1 mage, although not a giant in this world, but no longer some pathetic ant that anyone can push around, and MC will do something interesting to get more knowledge and increase his strength.... But NO! He goes to another place where there are resources to grow (no complaints here), but he immediately falls into f#cking captivity where he is again commanded, and his life depends on the whims of others. At this point it starts to irritate me, but not much, everyone is like that, although he is a level 1 mage, but objectively speaking he is not that strong against the background of the whole world....

However, then a complete f#ck-up begins! And this f#ck-up is based on 3 points!
    1) Throughout the whole f#cking book he has a f#cking WEAK character. He literally behaves like a passive bitch that anyone can push around and command. Fu#k, this started to piss me off so much! He escapes from captivity, in order to then immediately live like a frightened mouse under the power of three level 3 mages, even when he became level 2 and was already strong, he still lived very carefully and was afraid to stick his head out or do something interesting. Zero intrigue, conspiracy, interesting experiments with the aim of increasing his strength. It only gets worse.
When he became a level 3, and was already a pretty strong person against the background of the entire world of magic, everyone and everything continued to push him around. First Ophelia, then the tribunal that treated him like shit. The personality of the MC, who is a weak pussy throughout the entire book, just started to piss me off. When weaklings of the 3rd level, whom the MC can easily destroy, come under his nose and behave arrogantly, ordering the MC to go somewhere with them, and the MC just obediently does it, it just tears me apart!

Yes, yes, they can start writing now, well, he has to be careful, there are forces there that he cannot offend, etc.

Fu#k, this happens in every book! Hello! In every book there are strong powerful factions and people who can make the main character a pathetic slave! But in most books, the MC know how to avoid this and even snap back when necessary to show that I am not the one who can be kneaded as tightly as you like.
And no, it's not about the plot armor, but about the fact that this is the MAIN CHARACTER, do you really go to read fantasy books to observe solid realism? In the real world, there are enough situations when we are forced to compromise and bend our backs.
In the book, I want to see a smart protagonist who knows how to make the situation work in his favor (while making the plot look quite realistic!
Yes, even take the same Lord of Secrets, there were also conspiracies against Klein throughout the book, he was always part of someone's plans and intrigues, but did this make him look like a weak person in the eyes of readers? Those who understand what I'm talking about, they understand, and those who don't, there is no point in explaining further.

    2) After the tower arc, this book smoothly begins to flow from magic to cultivation! How to say, a Chinese can leave cultivation, but cultivation cannot leave a Chinese. They just can't properly dedicate a plot to the magical world, without their cultivation bullshit....

    3) There are bad fights, spells are given almost no attention, they are studied little, their number is small, it is all very unclear and incomprehensible, a bad power supply system and explanation of it and the spells themselves. The main character uses several spells throughout the book and that's it. Nothing interesting in this regard.

In general, now I am writing under very stormy emotions that have boiled up in me. I expected that MC would become stronger and do some interesting things, build conspiracies for the purpose of researching knowledge, something crazy and dangerous, so that he would be respected and feared! Accepted as a strong personality that is better not to offend! So that he would get a taste of power and the ability to hold someone else's life in his hands, but I never got that for 900 chapters. I kept waiting and waiting for him to become strong, but it was not meant to be. He never looked strong, and his promotion in rank was purely for show. That's the impression I have of the main character.
I can only say that I built up my own expectations of the plot and the main character, and when my expectations were not met, I was very disappointed.
You can't take my personal opinion to evaluate this book, so I advise you to read it yourself and decide whether you like it or not.

? Are we reading same novel? What do you mean MC was getting pushed around? What do you mean he entered the place with no resources? That's the place where you can find most resources that's why everyone goes there? Everything else you said are all wrong, the only one who truly pushed and tried to control MC was Film but he didn't successed instead the guy almost died to Gorza.

When I first saw Lord of Secrets, I was like, wtf is that? And then I saw Klein—ahhh, lotm, yeah, makes sense.

The issue of power scaling and cultivation happens in every novel. Even lotm suffers from it—if we’re taking coi into account. Where lotm embodies the quote, “For every gift of fate, you’ll have to pay it back,” coi just doesn’t give a single f*ck.

Every novel has a threshold. You can usually spot it from a random NPC’s awe-struck reaction to that level, talking about how insanely strong it is. Here that’s 1st rank wizard, in lotm, that a Saint—same in SS. No fundamental change after hitting that level, makes reader quickly lose interest in the rest of the power system. It just becomes a never-ending cycle of NPC glaze.

The way that you have described it, I can't do it any better
You hit every point of criticism that I have about this novel
in every story the mc has to be weaker then a villain otherwise the story won't be interesting so he has to struggle the power level in cultivation novel doesn't matter if you think about it cause there will always be someone who will be stronger then the mc & I think what people don't understand is that at the start of a story the MC is weak a normal human so it's understandable that he has to obey others & be a pushover but after halfway through the story that excuse doesn't fly otherwise the story is not satisfying
At that point, the MC has to have the ability of self-preservation otherwise, what's the point of the power system & This is the problem with this story. Here, it felt like he had made no progress at all whenever he encountered someone stronger.
It's all about perception & how the author can make us believe that the MC is powerful & is not a pushover, & this author completely fails at any of that.

A good beginning, a normal middle and an ambiguous end.

Basically I liked this novel and I don't feel bad for the time spent, although the ending is really strange. ( The author finished the novel and Saul
    )

As a result, we have a normal interesting novel. 4.2/5
