A pop-up event for some ‘modern fantasy’ media I loved so much that I even took a precious day off work to attend.

On that day, I ended up transmigrating as a character in that very fantasy world.

As none other than a newly hired employee at a famous large corporation!

A dream job with great benefits, an excellent salary, and even kind and competent bosses.

I’m using the information I know about the world to rise through the ranks at lightning speed!

Am I happy, you ask?

Please, just let me go home. I’m begging you.

※ Note : The genre is horror. Collapse

A bit of a nitpick, but for a 'profit' driven company the way they are discarding employees seems extremely inefficient. For example, the selection ceremony ---> Rather than being a deliberate process which separates wheat from the chaff it was an episode of "Will it blend?".
    Another nitpick:
The story tries to sell the company as a gathering place for somewhat crazy, opportunistic and ruthless people, but most of the time they just come off as being dumb more than anything.
Then the point shop been pretty neglected... And for the wish granting potion being so potent there are surprisingly few traces of its use in the world.
Overall - liked what I've red so far. A bit disappointed that the horror aspect didn't hit harder. Looking forward to more chapters.

I have a question. Several chapters of this work were deleted here? Where did they go? I remember that I stopped at chapter 114 and now I see that the last chapter is 107.1 20

Guys I think I’m having an existential crisis
I think I’m getting bored of reading
I have a tendency to downgrade my hobbies
Stared with anime the manga then this.
But recently it has started becoming a chore trying to find something good to read
The mass production of garbage and slightly average reads have drained my motivation to find those few moments where gold shines through my soul and I feel like that kid 6 years ago once did when watching a new anime episode for his monthly fixation.
I honestly don’t know what to do. I’ve tried real life, listening to music working out more often and even trying new hobbies.

Yet here I am feeling like the reader but there is no book to disassociate into.

I’ve been driven to drinking while reading to maybe find something twisted enjoyment out of the jumble of words that once used to brighten my day. Now I just drone through my day like a junkie waiting for his next fix waiting for that one author to surprise me with some new work or maybe a long forgotten relic to revive and continue making peak after a ten year hiatus.
But no this ain’t a fantasy or even a good wish. I bet the genie would turn me into Superman before that happens.

What I would kill for a guaranteed dopamine or seratonin fix

Why are we here in this earth practically the only thing sentient enough to be able to tell the difference between a finger and a thumb man I hate voice 2 for being so depressed and voice three for being so unrestrained
Leaving me to deal with the mess and the bundle of anxiety

Forget all that a new chapter was posted so let’s read

I've enjoyed reading web novels for years now, but 99% of them are junk-food literature; that's the simple and brutal truth, no matter how many people call the newest mass-produced cultivator story "peak" with a "ruthless and cunning MC," which also all conveniently have the exact same personality as the last 50 stories they've read. If you want to find fresher books, start looking outside of web novels, like book review channels on YouTube, Goodreads, etc. Maybe even try getting physical copies of popular or interesting books since many people enjoy reading more when it's physically in their hands and they have a collection to look at on their shelf.

If even after all that you still can't find it in you to read anything, then you're probably just burnt out and need to find a second hobby to do until you are no longer burnt out. Preferably something that has little crossover with reading and that is also a non-sedentary activity, like going outside; it could be something as simple as doing a lap around your neighborhood each morning or something that needs more preparation, such as camping over the weekend. You can then cycle between these two hobbies to ensure you don't get burnt out as easily. Ultimately, there are a lot of simple answers, but no easy ones since you have to actually do the work to figure out what works for you and what doesn't. Burnout is something everyone goes through. I wish you luck in figuring it out, and if even a single sentence of what I wrote can be considered helpful to you, then I'm satisfied.

      I hear you, bro.

It's just one of the facts of growing older, for a variety of reasons.

Try different stuff. As was said, webnovels are largely lit junk. Uncurated, unedited, and not proofread for the most part. Look up not just fully published works, but older titles on old best-sellers lists.

And if you don't already, try re-reading the good stuff you know you've enjoyed. Some stuff you'll have outgrown but some will still be excellent reads.

Finally, try different genres. As you grow older your tastes and capabilities change. Maybe you'd enjoy some personal diaries of ships captains, crews, soldiers, craftsmen or scientists. Maybe political history would be your new interest. Science history. Philosophical history. Personal accounts of ex spy's, spec ops, business magnates or political figures. Or maybe a deep dive into scholarly treatises and whatnot.

And finally, get your fitness up, bro. You need to be regularly active to keep your mind healthy. Sinking into the sedentary life of chasing highs from a seated position will eventually ruin everyone.

Even just pacing around while reading can be a noticeable boost in quality of life, though of course you should try for more when you can.

Readers crisis. It happens when reader becomes so lettered, he can't find any interest in reading books. He had seen everything and a new book for him becomes a composition, remix of previously read books. Nothing new, thus, nothing interesting. Same places, persons, narrative, cliche, different names. It doesn't mateer whether it is Daxia or Blue Star: same things in different coating.
There are a few was outta this:
      1. To drop reading and find a new hobby. Fu#king pottery, brewing, crystall growing, anything. Probably make new connections with new people in this field of interest, or reconnect with known people, make more connections with friends. Human is a social being, more socialization = more positivity, better mental state.
      2. To try yourself in a whole different set of genres. Like, alter from shounen-ai to historical. I assure, even if it isn't your cup of tea, it's still better then dig around in a trash pile of overread genre. It's very easy to find a brilliant in a new genre, they are obvious. One also is not lited by the novels, books are an option too (I personally like books by Brandon Sanderson). Fu#k, even classic literature counts. Perhaps not only classic literature of one's native country, but from over the world. It's quite interesting to compare mindesets of different groups. If anything, Bible is option too. One have mastered one field, it's time to shine in the other. They think you are a noobie on the way of Dao, you are secretly a Dao ancestor in the other Dao. They think you are nobody, in your previous life you were an emperor of the realm. MC hides his strength, face slapping, strong to stronger.
      3. To become an author oneself. Shit, one have read everything, he knows every narrative path. Specifically, one knows every disappointing cliche, that makes reading so tiresome, borehole and disappointing. Surely one can write something that he would like. One as a professional reader already knows how to write and what not to write, combining that knowledge will lead him to decent results.
      4. The way I'm using rn. To open a shit ton of novels and read them till the moment you loose an interest in one. Alter to another. Repeat. Once you will regenerate an interest in a dropped novel, then you'll finish it eventually. Probably with a few more reading hiatuses. If not, if you see it an think "this novel is piece of shit I'll never touch ot", just close the tab. I have, like, 500 browser tabs.
      5. I also use this one. It's smh connected to 3. To try to find smt you appreciate in the novel. The novelty, originality, fun, one fresh/interesting idea. If something touches you, it's worth noticing. Even when the novel is a dogshit, there would be at least one fresh idea (probably mentioned in the title. Got reincarnated with the smartphone, that could be interesting, there are so many possibilities). "This novel is SO bad, but this detaile makes it barely readable". "This idea is SO fresh, but novel completely losses its potential". Note everything that touches you in any way. "The way characters interacts is interesting". "Haha, the MCs personality completely ruins the preset dynamics (Dimentional Hotel)". "This interpretation of qi is novel and interesting. The Dao is infested, how will MC find a way out (Brother I Will Never Take Drugs)". Note it. Write it down. Steal adapt it. "This idea is SO good, this novel completely looses the potential. Surely I can write smt better out of it". Even if you will never write a single word of your novel, this approach still improves your reading experience. 1. You are more focused on the things you like in the current novel. 2. The feeling "I found a gem in a shitpile" makes you happier. 3. It is known that dreams about how you will make a brilliant work makes you happier now as if you already have done it, thus delaying the moment of actually making it to "never" category. This is a lifehack how to feel good without actually doing anything, which is what we want. Moreover, you didn't do "nothing". You made a note. If one day you will decide to start writing, you'll have some ideas to start with. Surely you'll do it, one day or another, but not today. But one day you'll definitely start writing. 100%. *wink*.

yea this is prolly the best advice... once u step away u'll missed some of the story that somehow lingers in ur head and wanted to revisit them. I mean most of the time I spend now are just rereading some of the novels I've read before. Only several new ones I did poison test turns out well...

Ngl, while I'm away I finally picked up the most famous book and finally decided to read it like it's a webnovel... yea I'm talking about the Bible and I was a blasphemer too bored for anything that I finally decided to read the story of Jesus. I've always believe religion to be hope masked for the poor and the weak, I mean it's very clear from how I take RI to be as close as it gets for me to a BIble.

Anyway, I'm not hoping for u to find ur fix or even entertain this Bible idea. I'm just hoping that when it gets so bad u'd still have the backbone to not end it all. Plus... It's amongst the helpless and the hopeless where His miracle happens the most. Also... happy new year u miserable bastard, hope the years hasn't gotten too boring that u'd want an early exit.

Tout çà pour dire que l'amour donne un vrai sens à notre vie . À part çà lance toi dans le christianisme, aime Dieu et parle lui plus . Peut être que ta vie changera .

Hey man, if you're still looking for advice, I recommend you seek out slower dopamine. Hit the gym, draw, fold origami, do something that doesn't instantly give you a hit of it. In the modern world, almost everything around us is designed to make us get a greater and greater hit of dopamine, which is biologically horrible for us. It'll make us burnt out and lose enjoyment in life. The easiest way to combat this? Seek delayed gratification, aka the slower dopamine.

These activities will NOT be fun at all, and it will be really hard to get started, but after a few days you'll feel noticeably better, I promise. But you need to genuinely put effort into it. At the start, it might feel difficult, as if you're doing something you're not meant to be doing. Oh this is so difficult, this isn't me, etc. Everyone feels that way. Unless you get past that you can't change. Trust me, I've been there.

Also, stop escalating your dopamine intake. Drinking is a horrible thing that ruins lives. It's something I've experienced first hand happen to someone extremely close to me, and it turned them into someone that would sooner abandon their loved ones that they truly care about for a quick hit. It's a genuine tragedy. It may seemingly make you happy now, but it won't be much different from reading soon, and you'll only seek out more and more thrills.

Maybe you feel like your life sucks, so you need to escape into novels to be happy. Maybe you feel like your existence is meaningless, so you hide away seeking pleasure wherever you can find it. But I promise, your life is worth living, no matter who you are. Every second matters, and if you're consumed by dopamine, so much time is lost. By the time you realize it, you'll have lived someone else's life instead of your own.

Of course, I'm not the one living your life, and I don't know if you'll listen to me. Maybe even if you listened to me this won't change anything. However, reader to fellow reader man, I truly hope you can get past this. It's hard, but I know you can make it.

I honestly struggle to describe this work accurately. It's quite good so far, the writing is solid, characters have something to them and they're not just a piece of cardboard, MC is not annoying, even if he is a scaredy cat, atmosphere is good, although it does become less scary as we go, but it doesn't feel wrong for that to happen here. Overall it's a very promising start, like 7-8/10. Once we hit halfway through the story I'll try to write a review on this, but for now I eagerly wait for new chapters.

    Works to read.

时间循环:开局就被六扇门抓捕 Rank B ( Great potential but in my opinion it was ruined by the early romance. Apart from that it is definitely an above average work.)

    黜龙 Rank B

Another above-average work, I particularly like it because it has a good opinion of Prize winners who address politics and intrigues. But this author has a certain fetish for including a lot of politics which becomes relatively "dull" after about 130 chapters(chapters I am in).

Background: The MC initially reincarnates in a world with dragons, gods and demons (and other things). Initially the author kind of brings several clues that the main "movers" here are the dragons, but it is not like this

When the MC wakes up, he realizes that he is in a kind of temple with some warriors, but only one recognizes him. He has a compass that brings immense bad luck if he thinks of bad things when using it. After he awakens from unconsciousness, the soldier who recognizes him guides him to the collapse caused by the "lizard", but they get lost and mc uses the compass.

(Why did I write all this filler?)

    魇醒 Rank B+
Honestly, it deserved more if the author wasn't so "wordy". I don't know exactly how the plot is after about 150 chapters, but I can assure you that it is above average.

Dragons? Warriors? Temple? Early Romance? I think you are either on the wrong story or you're a victim of some extremely bad MTL, my friend, because that is not at all what's going on in this story lmao. Either that or you're giving away some VERY heavy spoilers for this story, and it goes off the deep end very quickly.

This novel has me on a chokehold. It fits what I wanted entirely. It's like seeing My House of Horrors but instead of becoming action packed due to [redacted], it actually adheres to the horror. Of course, it becomes less terrifying with each layer unfolded but that still does not take away the horror it shows. Overall, one of my favorite things, like Celeste.
